How to Work with Your Talent

A few principles that make the biggest difference in a remote working relationship.

💬

Communication

Pick one primary channel and stick to it: Slack, email, or WhatsApp. Avoid spreading tasks across multiple places. Be clear about when you expect responses, and when they can expect responses from you.

📤

Delegation

When assigning tasks: explain the what and the why, share examples or templates, set a clear deadline, and let them know if it's flexible or urgent. Start slower with repeatable tasks before jumping into judgment-heavy work.

🎯

Feedback

Give feedback early and often, especially in the first 30 days. Please be direct, and if something is off, please let us know.

🔧

Tools

Grant access to what your Talent needs to do the job. If there's specific training or skills required, please let us know: we can assist in helping get your Talent up to speed faster.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most from new clients.

Tell us. We'll work with you and your Talent to course-correct. If it's not fixable, we'll find a replacement at no extra cost.
Life happens. If your Talent is sick or has an unavoidable absence, let us know and we'll coordinate backup coverage to keep things moving. If you prefer not to use backup coverage, any missed days will be credited to your next invoice: you won't be charged for time not worked.
For full-time Talent (40+ hours/week), your Talent will follow your holiday calendar. When you observe a holiday and business is closed, your Talent gets that day as paid time off: it's built into your monthly rate, so billing stays the same. If preferred, you and your Talent can arrange for culturally relevant holidays (optional).
Any time off beyond sick days and your standard holiday policy follows the same rule: missed days get credited to your next invoice.
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately (prorated). Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle.
No. Hours are use-it-or-lose-it each billing period.
Yes. After 90 days, there's a buyout option. Talk to us and we'll walk you through it.
Absolutely. The Africa Rising team provides core training and development, but if you'd like to invest in premium tools, specialized software, advanced courses, or additional resources for your Talent, that's completely optional and a great advantage. Just reach out and we'll help coordinate it.
Yes. You can give a bonus at any time: monthly, quarterly, annually, or for special occasions like holidays. When you do, 100% goes directly to your Talent with no fees or cuts. Just let us know and we'll coordinate payment.

Welcome aboard.

We're glad you're here.
