About the Client

A fully remote consultancy at the intersection of energy and ocean tech.

This is a Year-3 strategy and business development consultancy operating across Atlantic Canada and European markets, focused on the renewable energy and ocean technology sectors. The team is small (five full-time staff plus contractors), fully remote, and growing fast. They work on market entry, business development, and commercial strategy for technical service companies looking to expand into sustainable business opportunities.

The Managing Director travels frequently and runs a meeting-heavy schedule. This role exists to extend his capacity and add structure to a growing pipeline of clients, partners, and prospects.

Role Overview

Two functions. One operator.

This is a hybrid Administrative and Lead Generation role, weighted roughly 70% admin support and 30% lead generation research. You will keep day-to-day operations running smoothly while contributing directly to revenue growth by identifying and researching prospective clients and partners.

You will not be a remote task worker. You will function as an embedded teammate — joining daily 15-minute team huddles, participating in company communications, and acting like an engaged member of the firm.

Key Responsibilities

What you'll own.

  • Admin Support
    Keep the business moving
Calendar and scheduling support, document preparation, correspondence tracking, records hygiene across digital systems, and processing of incoming information (business cards, meeting notes, voice transcriptions) into the right places promptly.
  • Lead Research
    Build the pipeline
Research prospective clients, partners, and stakeholders using LinkedIn, industry databases, conference registrant lists, and other sources. Build and maintain structured prospect lists in the CRM.
  • Outreach Prep
    Set the table for sales
Support outbound outreach campaigns by preparing contact information, drafting initial outreach sequences for review, and tracking responses. Help prepare trade show and conference hit lists.
  • Industry Watch
    Surface what matters
Monitor industry news, association announcements, and event listings to surface new lead opportunities and flag relevant developments to the team. Keep the firm's situational awareness current without being asked.
  • Tools & Systems
    Run the stack
Use Monday.com to track leads, tasks, and project activity with discipline and consistency. Maintain Google Workspace documents, folders, and calendar entries. Learn and apply new tools as systems evolve.
  • Team Integration
Be a teammate, not a contractor
Participate in daily 15-minute team huddles. Stay engaged in company communications. Coordinate cross-functionally with other admin and EA staff as required. Act like a named team member from day one.

  • Proficiency with common digital tools — Google Workspace, CRM systems, LinkedIn.
  • Self-directed and comfortable working remotely with a small, fast-moving team.
  • Proactive but reserved working style. Calm energy. You anticipate needs without being performative.
